The Emerald Vivaldi
Bias-cut fluid crepe gown in forest green
Named for the Venetian composer whose music is all momentum, the Emerald Vivaldi is a gown in motion. Cut in a fluid forest-green crepe, it moves with the body rather than against it — each step releasing a new plane of fabric, each turn reshaping the silhouette.
The construction is deceptively simple in appearance. In practice, the bias-cut panels require extreme precision to join without distortion. The result is a gown that looks effortless and is anything but.
- Fluid matte crepe (forest green)
- Bias-cut panel construction
- Silk charmeuse lining
- Deep V-back
- Hand-stitched hem
The Bias Cut
Each panel of the Emerald Vivaldi is cut at a precise 45-degree angle to the grain. This allows the crepe to hang with liquidity, but demands that the panels are cut with margin and allowed to stretch before final seaming.
The Joining
Bias seams are joined with a walking foot and a tension calibrated to prevent puckering. This is one of the most technically demanding aspects of the garment — and the one most invisible to the wearer.
The Lining
The silk charmeuse lining is cut on the straight grain, providing a stable interior foundation that allows the outer shell to move independently. This dual-layer construction is what gives the gown its signature fluidity.
- Dry clean recommended
- If hand-washing, use cold water and a gentle silk detergent — never wring
- Lay flat to dry; press on reverse with a pressing cloth
