The Gilded Gown
Bias-cut golden silk charmeuse column dress
Some dresses whisper. The Gilded Gown has no need for anything so tentative. Cut in a warm golden silk that catches candlelight and morning light with equal generosity, it belongs to the category of garments that do not merely dress a woman — they announce her.
The silhouette is clean and uninterrupted from shoulder to floor, the fabric's natural weight doing the work of structure. A single low back plunge is the garment's only statement of vulnerability — and it is enough.
- Italian silk charmeuse (warm gold)
- Internal structure with soft-boned side panels
- Silk jersey lining
- Hand-rolled hem
- Hook-and-eye back closure
The Drape
Silk charmeuse is among the most demanding of fabrics — it reveals every imprecision. The Gilded Gown is cut on the bias, requiring the fabric to be suspended and allowed to fall naturally before any seam is drawn.
The Lining
A second garment lives inside the Gilded Gown — a silk jersey underlayer cut identically to the outer shell, ensuring no fabric pulls or bunches regardless of movement.
The Hem
The hem is hand-rolled by our lead seamstress over several hours. There are no shortcuts here. A rolled hem on silk charmeuse is a statement of intent.
- Hand wash cold or dry clean
- Roll — do not fold — for storage
- Press on silk setting, wrong side only
